Toilet repairs

Most likely you’ve had to deal with a wonky toilet in your life.  Usually this is a result of a clog, which can be solved by a few simple plunges.

Even if the problem is located inside the tank, you should be able to locate it by lifting off the lid and surveying the parts.  Maybe the chain is caught, or the arm is stuck.  Either way, with a little tinkering, you can solve the problem.

Clogged drains

These are another common – and usually simple – problem that you may be able to tackle yourself.  Let’s say your kitchen sink is backing up.  You could try commercial drainage chemicals, but if you don’t want to spend money on something that may or may not work, check the pipe itself first.

Locate the U-shaped bend in the pipe (or U trap) under the sink.  Next place a bucket underneath it to catch any water or debris, and using a wrench, unscrew the bend on both ends.  Allow it to drain out and replace.

Sewer line repair
