When Home Remedies Fail – What to Do?
Every so often, your sink or tub will clog. Sometimes, your dishwasher will overflow, too. Clogged sewer drains and fouled weeping tiles are difficult jobs, but straightforward “hair down the sink” clogs are less trouble. In fact, home remedies can help you with them most of the time.
How to Clear a Clogged Drain
Vinegar and hydrogen peroxide will usually work. So will vinegar and baking soda. If your drain is clogged by grease, as well as something else, add a combination of salt and boiling water to the mixture. Keep your drain clear by mixing baking soda, salt, and cream of tartar together. Add a small amount to the drain, and then pour in a cup or two of boiling water. The best part of this home remedy is that there is no odor. It is also not poisonous and corrosive like commercially available drain cleaners.
